Our Work

The Katelyn Hall Foundation strives to help in the fight against prematurity. Our premiere fundraising event is our annual golf tournament. Our 7th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on April 16, 2012 at Lansdowne Golf Resort.

In our efforts to make a difference in the lives of those affected by prematurity we are working with the following organizations:

March of Dimes (Donation Totals: $219,254 : $11,200 as KHF and rest as Team Katelyn)
Within the March of Dimes community we are known as "Team Katelyn" and we have been supporting MOD since Katelyn's 1 year birthday. Katelyn turned 1 year old on the MOD National Prematurity Awareness day: Nov 16, 2004. Katelyn was chosen as the 2009 National Ambassador for the March of Dimes and spent the year traveling across the country helping in the fight against prematurity. You can see more about her journey as the national ambassador on her MOD web page. Every year Team Katelyn walks in the March for Babies and our goal is to raise $1M dollars, which was the cost of Katelyn's NICU stay. To donate to MOD for Team Katelyn's march in April please visit our MFB webpage. For more information please visit www.marchofdimes.com.

Preemies Today (Donation totals: $10,182 : $2,000 as KHF and rest as Team Katelyn)
Preemies Today is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Their mission is to provide outreach and support programs to families of infants born prematurely beginning at birth and throughout childhood. They are located in the Washington DC metropolitan area and have local events in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC. For more information please visit www.preemiestoday.com.

Georgetown University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Donation Totals: $46,410)
Katelyn spent 159 days in the GTUH NICU after she was born at 25 weeks weighing only 15.5 oz in November 2003. We will forever be indebted to the doctors and nurses who took such good care of Katelyn while she was there. We want to make sure that the GTUH NICU can continue to save the lives of babies like Katelyn for years to come. Michael and Ashley both serve on the GTUH NICU Parent Advisary Board which was formed in the Winter of 2009. For more information please visit the GUH NICU website.

Team Joe Charities (Donation Totals: $2,000)
Team Joe Charities was created in 2007 to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children. Like Katelyn, Joe Petrella was born prematurely in October of 2006 and spent 104 days in the NICU at Fairfax Hospital. Be sure to read his story and support Team Joe's fight for prematurity.
